Heather Greenwood Davis has never met a topic she didn’t want to write about: There was the fair In small town America celebrating a fish “no one likes to eat”; embarrassing surfing lessons in front of jeering ten year olds; and the thrills (and chills) of being chosen for a home makeover when you’re the married mom of two young boys.
Heather delivers stories that are entertaining, informative and defy expectations. Her casual tone and informal writing style turns the reader into her confidante as she travels the globe and canvasses neighbourhoods for interesting people.
Based in the Toronto area, Heather has been writing since the age of 12 when she started a newspaper at her elementary school.
Within months of graduating the Carleton University School of Journalism (1995), Heather was hired as a staff reporter at The Toronto Star. She left in 1996 to pursue a law degree at the University of Windsor Law School, but continued to report for the paper as a freelance correspondent. She graduated with her law degree in 1999 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2001.
Today, more than 10 years after her first article appeared, you can still find her in The Star. Her freelance column “Alternate Arrangements” has appeared in the paper's travel section since January 2003. A second column “First Time Homebuyer” runs in the New in Homes Section and her organizational series “Organizing Chaos” runs in the "Your Home” section.
Heather’s stories can be found in magazines such as Elle Canada and Style at Home, and on websites such as Travel to Wellness.com.
She is always looking for new subjects to write about and new audiences to share her stories with. If you’re interested in publishing Heather’s work or have a story you think she should tell contact her at: heather@greenwooddavis .com
